At 5th String Music we offer musical instruction in acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle.
- We teach all styles of music (rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, classical, folk, gospel, contemporary Christian, praise and worship,
finger style, etc...)
- We teach at all levels (beginner, intermediate, or advanced)
- Our rates are $80.00 per month for 1 half hour, private lesson per week. ($20.00 per lesson) Cash or check only.

Our Teaching Staff:
Susan Snyder (Guitar)- Susan, a native of Greenville, SC, is the owner of 5th String Music. She has been teaching guitar for 33 years. Susan performed as a solo act in the early 70's and has played with bands including Harvest and Stoney Creek. She is a founding member of The Fifth String Band. Susan teaches all styles and levels of guitar.
Neal Vaughn (Guitar) -Neal has been teaching guitar in the Greenville area since 1985. Neal teaches music theory, reading, composition, arranging, etc. Neal teaches the following music styles: Rock - all styles
Progressive lead guitar - Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen etc.
Blues - from Robert Johnson to Stevie Ray Vaughan
Classical - The great composers, Spanish composers, etc.
Flamenco
Finger style - arrangements of songs for finger style etc.
Jazz - Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Big Band standards etc.
Jazz Fusion - Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, Larry Carlton, etc.
Charles Wood (Banjo) - Charles Wood is an award-winning banjo player. He won the 1998 Merlefest Banjo Championship and the 1999 Walnut Valley National Banjo Championship. Charles specializes in "Scruggs Style" banjo.
Bob Buckingham (Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, and Fiddle) - Over the past forty years Bob has played and taught banjo, both
claw hammer and bluegrass styles, fiddle in both styles, as well as mandolin. He also teaches guitar in finger-picked and flat-picked styles. Bob has played in several bluegrass and old time bands and fronted his own Chicago style blues band way back in the 1960's. During that time he also played with a soul band and a gospel group..
